Election 08, full of hate!

I wasn't going to do it. Really I wasn't. I was going to keep my mouth shut, but I am officially fed up!!!!! This has got to be the worse election of all time. No not the candidates, I am actually rather impressed that we have two strong candidates to choose between. I am fed up over the hate among Americans. People are literally turning on each other all because of who they vote for, it is absolutely ridiculously. Why should it matter? If you're voting that is great, but don't hate on a friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor, etc. just because they are not voting for the same person you are.

I am voting for John McCain! I did my research on both candidates and I made the best choice for me. Come to find out though I should have been voting based on my families needs or my own race. That is right, I have been called a sell out because I didn't vote for Barack Obama!!!! Excuse me? Just because I am black doesn't mean I have to vote for Barack Obama. My own husband was called a racist because he isn't voting for Obama. So if you're white and vote against Barack you hate black people? Not true!!! Why does it have to be like that? Seriously grow up people!! Remember Martin Luther King's dream? That no one be judged based on the color of the skin. So why do we have to vote for Barack because he is black? I am not saying everyone is like that, but if there is a part of you that is, STOP IT!!!!

Don't vote for Barack Obama because he is a black man. Don't vote for John McCain because he is a war hero. Look at the issues and there solutions. Then make your decision. After you do give yourself a pat on the back for voting. Don't go punch someone in the face who is against you (figuratively speaking).

I am a 24 yr old Black woman who grew up in poverty and I am voting for John McCain. I promise that is not the end of the world. I am proud of my decision, and I am proud that I don't hate on others for not voting the same as me. If you have a best friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor, etc. that is voting differently than you that is ok. Embrace them, love them, and understand we make our own choices!!!

Broken bones, but busy schedules!!!

I am a definite believer if you need a break and you won't take one. . . God is going to give you a break. And sometimes that is quite literal. The last month I have been really busy. I’ve been enjoying it but I knew I needed to slow down. But when I looked at everything there is no time to slow down!!!! I just finished up with Tiffany’s elopement, school has started, I am helping Tiffany plan an elopement, I am working, I am looking for a new job, I am full speed ahead with the Catering Ministry at church, I am working on opening up my own business in Photography, and we are putting hardwood floors in. In all honesty I am not stressing, but I am not resting. My body has wanted to but I am in full speed ahead. Since I didn’t listen to myself God stepped in to take care of it.

The other night I was playing with my puppy Brian and as I was chasing after him I rammed my foot right into the door frame!!!! Yes it hurt, badly, very badly, I cried, I shouted, and I almost passed out. But even then I was like, “No big deal I have broken toes before and it’s not that bad”. However, the next when I woke up I couldn’t put any weight on my foot!!! The doctor made me go to the E.R. After four hours of waiting I received the good news that there were no breaks in the stability bones of the foot, but I managed to get a spiral fracture in the fourth toe. That is why it hurts a lot worse than previous toe breaking. They sent me home in a goofy hard sole foot thing and I have to rest for a week.

The doctor drew me a picture of what the break looks like.

Progress!!!!

The past week has been a week of progress. For starters I started school back on Thursday!!! I will be done 04/29/10, possibly sooner if I double up, which is an avenue I will try to take. So it is very very exciting. In addition to school there is alot more responsibilities with the Driskill family. We joined the Catering Ministry at church and it's alot of fun, but also a lot of work. John has Men's Conference Thursday through Saturday. He is a bit overwhelmed because he has work and the floors in addition to that. I am sure he will be fine and I told him not to worry about the floors this weekend.

Speaking of the floors we are making more and more progress. John was here by himself Saturday while I was out on my own adventures. But he worked diligently and when I got home he let me do a piece of the floor. I must say it is a lot of fun. If I was more confident and skilled I would totally surprise and lay more floor while he is at work.

Like I said though the floors are coming along well. The dogs are trying to figure it out, they keep sliding. It is really funny to watch, Brian went to jump on the couch but his back legs slipped out from underneath of him, hehehehehehe. It was the funniest thing today!!!!!
Well here is the pictures of more progress, enjoy!!!!
