Election 08, full of hate!

I wasn't going to do it. Really I wasn't. I was going to keep my mouth shut, but I am officially fed up!!!!! This has got to be the worse election of all time. No not the candidates, I am actually rather impressed that we have two strong candidates to choose between. I am fed up over the hate among Americans. People are literally turning on each other all because of who they vote for, it is absolutely ridiculously. Why should it matter? If you're voting that is great, but don't hate on a friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor, etc. just because they are not voting for the same person you are.

I am voting for John McCain! I did my research on both candidates and I made the best choice for me. Come to find out though I should have been voting based on my families needs or my own race. That is right, I have been called a sell out because I didn't vote for Barack Obama!!!! Excuse me? Just because I am black doesn't mean I have to vote for Barack Obama. My own husband was called a racist because he isn't voting for Obama. So if you're white and vote against Barack you hate black people? Not true!!! Why does it have to be like that? Seriously grow up people!! Remember Martin Luther King's dream? That no one be judged based on the color of the skin. So why do we have to vote for Barack because he is black? I am not saying everyone is like that, but if there is a part of you that is, STOP IT!!!!

Don't vote for Barack Obama because he is a black man. Don't vote for John McCain because he is a war hero. Look at the issues and there solutions. Then make your decision. After you do give yourself a pat on the back for voting. Don't go punch someone in the face who is against you (figuratively speaking).

I am a 24 yr old Black woman who grew up in poverty and I am voting for John McCain. I promise that is not the end of the world. I am proud of my decision, and I am proud that I don't hate on others for not voting the same as me. If you have a best friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor, etc. that is voting differently than you that is ok. Embrace them, love them, and understand we make our own choices!!!
