The best gift is remembering. . .

We all know that we are in a time of economic crappiness. So this year for Valentine's Day we decided we were going to go simple. Since I had to work on Saturday we were going to hang out Friday night. John told me on Tuesday he was going to take me to dinner. I wanted to know where but he was like don't worry about it. So I asked him to tell me attire and he said anything I wanted. Pretty much jeans and a tee would be fine. I will be honest at first in my head I was like really he's taking me some place casual. I didn't want to go somewhere we had already been. But I quickly pushed that thought out of my head because it didn't matter. I was just excited to spend the time together. Since we both work alot it's hard spending uninterrupted time together.

So on Friday I get off of work and I went to Christian Supply to get his book. Well they didn't have it so I had to drive up into Vancouver during rush hour and buy the book. I worked hard to get him a little tiny book. But he really appreciated it. I get home just in time to turn around and go to dinner. We start the drive and I realize we are going back into Vancouver. We had a good laugh since I was just up there a few minutes ago. When we crossed the bridge I instantly thought we were going to Joe's Crab Shack. That is the place we eat at when we go to Vancouver. But after we passed the exit I was clueless.

We finally exited the freeway. As we rounded the corner I instantly saw the restaurant we were going to.I absolutely love this place!!! We had not been to one since 2005!! We don't have one in Oregon, but John found out there was one up in Vancouver. What made this so unbelievable that he chose this place was because this is where we went our very first Valentine's Day together!!!! We had only been together for a few months. He got me a letter A diamond pendant and a teddy bear. Then we went TGI Friday. Ever since I left Colorado I always talked to him about that restaurant and how bummed I was that Oregon didn't have one.

For him to have remembered our first Valentine's Day is the best gift ever! John totally made my night! No gift in the world could be out the fact that he remembered! I love him so much and never ceases to amaze me!
